High-Speed Chase in Little Rock Ends with Arrest and Drug Seizure

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police (ASP) seized several types of drugs, including psychoactive mushrooms and illegal marijuana, following a high-speed chase involving a Little Rock driver.

According to ASP officials, the incident began around 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, when troopers attempted to stop 24-year-old Malcolm Curry’s vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 67. However, Curry accelerated, leading state troopers on a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 130 mph on Interstate 40.

Troopers reported that Curry deliberately turned off all vehicle lights and continued to pass cars on the shoulder of the highway. The chase ended when Curry crashed his vehicle, after which he attempted to flee the scene but was soon apprehended by authorities.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a significant drug stash, including 14 boxes of PolkaDot psychoactive mushrooms, 47 Ecstasy pills, two pounds of illegal marijuana, and three bottles of promethazine.

Curry faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, fleeing from police, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of property, and several traffic violations. He was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center after receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the crash.
